The Playing for the Planet Annual Impact Report is a summary of activities undertaken by the initiative in 2024. It aggregates the outcomes of major actors in the video games industry in their efforts to decarbonise and place green activations in games, and outlines what steps will be taken in 2025.

Playing for the Planet’s 2023 Annual Impact report provides a year-on-year review of the work of the Alliance and its membership, which currently stands at 44 games companies and trade associations. Each section provides an update on the Alliance’s key focus areas and how well the objectives set for 2023 the year prior have been met.

Playing for the Planet Alliance’s 2022 Annual Impact Report reveals strong progress on decarbonization from studios, a survey of nearly 400,000 gamers showing that players want studios to do more with activations in games potentially reaching up to 630 million gamers.

Playing for the Planet’s Second Annual Impact reveals continued momentum on growth, innovation, and collaboration from the Alliance, amidst an industry that is emerging from the pandemic with renewed vigour and resilience. The report sets out the initiative’s plans for the coming year and presents the key achievements of the Alliance, including the progress made by studios on decarbonisation as well as the 2020 Green Game Jam that reached 110 million people through activations placed in games made by 11 major studios such as Angry Birds and Subway Surfers.
